Carlotta Copper Mine Powers Gulch Diversion – Quadra Mining, Globe AZ.

Hydro Environmental Services was contacted directly by the Carlota Copper Company to participate in the Powers Gulch Channel Re-Alignment at the Carlota Copper Mine near Globe, Arizona. HES staff installed twelve drop structures in a challenging channel alignment to safely pass the Probable Maximum Flood in the Powers Gulch Drainage. Difficulty on this project arose from alignment slope which averaged 32% over the 1,250 foot long reach of this channel dropping roughly 700 vertical feet in that distance. Through the technical training of our field personnel, HES was able to recommend several cost saving proposals to the owner and design engineer while maintaining the integrity of the design and functionality of the channel. The Quadra Mining's - Carlota Copper Mine is one of the most heavily regulated sites in the world and the owner continues to recommend Hydro Environmental Services for our professionalism and technical capabilities.

Big Windsor Reservoir Crest Maintenance & Spillway Rehabilitation -
Larimer Weld Irrigation Company, Windsor CO.

Hydro Environmental Services was retained by Larimer Weld Irrigation to complete construction of two projects designed by Water Management Consultants at the Big Windsor Reservoir Facility. This project was built with CWCB financing and required HES assistance in completing both the Feasibility Studies and Construction Budgets. Phase I – Crest Maintenance was completed on budget and ahead of schedule after verification of existing crest elevations. This phase included elevation of low areas and a new gravel wearing surface. Phase II – Spillway and Channel Realignment was completed on time and under budget. The existing emergency spillway was rehabilitated and the discharge channel alignment was changed to divert flows from adjacent private property directly downstream.
